"I wanted to have the skills to be able to give more ..."

One's life journey often meanders along various paths. I am no different. When I was 12, I dreamed of becoming a missionary nurse, and throughout junior high and high school I spent many Saturdays providing companionship to the elderly in nursing homes—reading, playing cards, or just listening. My mom and dad had a major influence on my life because they led by example of working hard and giving to others. My Native American roots also served as a major influence in my life. I loved hearing stories of my Micmac great grandmother and her natural healing. Somehow I must have related to that. As a child, I had no idea what herbal concoction I was taking; I just knew it helped make me feel a whole lot better. However, I was not so sure about the spring dose of dandelion greens!!

After graduating from Husson College as a medical secretary, I trained for the Peace Corps. Later I received a BS degree from the University of Maine in Machias. Then the high school classroom called, and I loved it!!

After teaching for 27 years, I retired to spend quality time with my mom who was 90. While caring for her, I was fortunate to begin working for an acupuncturist who introduced me to Energy Light Rejuvenation™. With that certification, I performed ELR treatments for nearly eight years. That, too, fulfilled my desire to help others.

Not only did folks experience glowing skin, they felt better both inside and out.

Carrying out these treatments caused me to decide I wanted to have the skills to be able to give more. I completed over 600 hours of comprehensive training at Empire Beauty School. I am a licensed esthetician in both Maine and New Hampshire! In addition to that, I serve as a volunteer for Look Good Feel Better, a non-medical service program that teaches beauty techniques to cancer patients who are coping with skin changes and hair loss, and as a Reiki volunteer at Portsmouth Hospital.

As a skin care therapist (I just love that name!), it is my goal to furnish guests with quality service in a relaxed atmosphere while providing facial rejuvenation and relaxation. I am committed to openly listening to each guest's concerns with respect, genuine acceptance, and compassion. I take pride in delivering personalized, dedicated service to each individual.

My life's journey continues, and I realize that I have not strayed far from my initial all-encompassing goal of being of service to others. I look forward to working with you to help you care for your precious skin!
